2 mins a poppy! Easy Peasy!

Done poppies before, but this a light and quick poppies. Yellow, Orange, poppies, Wet on wet techniques and quick movement of brush in curly, random manner. Finally, red is added once more with more pigment. It happens in 2 mins for one max. And if you're a newbie then you could be a lil slower. Thanks to YouTube and my mentors: Angela Fehr, Andy Geeson, Jean Haines and others! As a newcomer books help, too! I'm inspired by 'world of watercolour' by Jean Haines! Be confident, Try small till you're confident. Then you could try a field of poppies! with you! Thanks for being here Valsa Instagram@drmctchr_studio Twitter: vallsa I'm

Splash with a Palette knife!

Image
Palette knife is an interesting tool to create cool, textured or smooth watercolour painting. As a sketch you can go to your limit and use various mark making to create, grasses, smooth sky, rocks. Starting from one, that was a night wash, started with some steel and plastic palette knives and slowly built up an abstract painting, To me it seemed it could be a flower bouquet, but i don't want to spell it to my viewers. We did some pouring, splattering, to demonstrate different possibilities. I enjoyed my palette knife experience. Hope you did. I rather teach techniques to give you the way rather then the fish!
